Silvermine Nature Reserve – along Ou Kaapse Weg when coming from Cape Town, South Africa, and driving over these stunning mountain ranges towards Noordhoek – has just exploded with gold!

Sweeping vistas from Silvermine Nature Reserve with a gentle mist dissolving in the early morning sunlight.
Although I experimented with filters in a couple of monochrome versions, I love the above untouched original digital picture from my simple Nikon Coolpix P90 as it’s so authentic and documenting a very special day.
Imagine with this a very soft breeze rustling through the leaves of the typical fynbos… the already withering ericas overgrown by strikingly energetic leucadendrons… and the occasional twitter of those beautiful little long-tailed sunbirds circling up into the crystalline air….
Magic!
